Sleep … Sleep … Sleep

We are learning to:
organises written ideas into paragraphs with increasing confidence
organises and sequences ideas and information with increasing confidence
Show a developing understanding of how to shape texts for different purposes and audiences.

Did you know we all get a different amount of sleep.
But why ? Why is our sleep so important?  Our sleep is just as important as our health. It is like recharging tablets, phones and computers.

We all have a clock in our brain … Don't worry it is not a real clock it is a clock that keeps track of our 24 hour day and night. We don't have the same routine as others because we go to sleep at different times and wake up at different times.

Most kids up to 6 to 11 should get 9 to 11 hours of sleep because we need more   sleep than adults and they need less sleep than we do. But our sleep is still important.
Newborns should get 14 to 17 hours of sleep because they sleep during the day and are mostly up all night.

Did you know that yawning is contagious… You might be thinking that is crazy but if you see someone yawn it makes you want to yawn. Also yawning means that you are tired and that probably means that you did not get enough sleep last night,  That is bad.

WOW SLEEP IS VERY IMPORTANT. Now I know a little bit more about sleep and how much we all need.  Sleep is so very important.
